![]() that was some long cheesepuff help tutorial right? *flops over* or whatever version you're just reinstalling X'D)īaaaah. DELETE THE OLD DRIVER FIRST AFTER SAVING PREFERENCES, THEN INSTALL THE NEW VERSION. This means you have TWO drivers on your computer for your tablet, and though I'm sure it doesn't really interfere with your work, IT WILL LAG AND SLOW DOWN YOUR COMPUTER. ALSO, sorry this is getting long, but THIS IS VITAL: DO NOT not uninstall the driver before installing a newer update. the vid is pretty old but still helpful! and not only that I also uninstalled/reinstalled my driver the other day because my tablet simply wasn't working properly. Make sure to save your settings/preferences (this video goes a bit more indepth into it -> ignore all that talk about updating and stuff in the beginning. ![]() This DOES take a while, but at the moment I think you should uninstall your driver. ![]() Sometimes that works! but, make sure to save all your work before doing that!Ħ.) Oh, are you back already? Restarting didn't work? Are you sure? uwu Hm. Sometimes that's all it takes! LOLĥ.) Hoo boy, you're still here!?!? Well then, sorry all that stuff didn't work! From here on, I suggest you restart your computer/laptop. Click "File," then go down to where it reads "Environmental Settings." Where it says "Brush Coordinate," change it from "Tablet Coordinate (recommended)" to "Mouse Coordinate." For further help, use this! … (but wait oops! Sorry, forgot to include, this helpful page is for Mac users only ^^' If it does actually work on Windows, please let me know!)Ĥ.) If all that shizam doesn't work, then simplest complicated solution? Unplug and then replug your tablet. To start with, go up to the very tippy-top where it says "File," "edit," "Layer" etc. X'D so whatever drawing you ain't working on, close it for now and open it later.ģ.) Change the settings! This is a pretty common/simple one that I'm surprised many people have not heard of. (or RAM or whatever that other stuff is called? im sorry idk im not a computer expert ) Other than that, sometimes my tablet lags if I have too many canvas/works in FA open. Or any big programs that you're not using atm that take up a lot of room. Close the excess tabs playing audio, videos, etc. (of course, if you're GOING for the pixelated look, then uncheck it by all means XD)Ģ.) Sometimes all it takes is some extra background programs running to lag up your other stuff. I don't think that's a factor in lagginess, but JUST IN CASE. I'm not sure about that one, but make sure to check it if it isn't. That's something right next to Correction that makes your pen either smooth or pixelated. Speaking of correction, check your Anti-Aliasing too. And ha, guess what? IT WAS EXTREMELY LAGGY. If the number is higher than 3 or 4, that's why it might start to lag. If you are on the pen tool or eraser tool, there will be a small section of the toolbar that reads: Correction, then a number. Ways to fix a laggy tablet more specifically geared toward FA users!-ġ.) CHECK YOUR CORRECTION. Okay, so after that fiasco of me raging over my laggy tablet, I decided to put this journal up because as I was looking for ways to fix it many came up to me! And I figured it might help others too. Wacom (under Mapping) and Huion have this option, I don’t know about others.Īlso turn off other tablet services built into Windows or your tablet software, such as Pen Flicks (the Pen and Touch applet in the Control Panel) or long-press or press-and-hold or hard-press for right-click (try the Pen and Touch applet in the Control Panel and/or your pen settings control applet, which might be in Control Panel, or in the system tray in the right lower corner, or maybe in the start menu).*sigh. If your tablet software allows it, and if you are using Windows (I don’t know whether Macs have any equivalent), turn off Windows Ink/TabletPC services. Next, try File menu, Environment Setting, and change Brush Coordinate from Use Tablet Coordinate to Use Mouse Coordinate. The first thing to try is the latest tablet driver from your tablet manufacturer (and restart your computer after installing it). A lot of graphics programs have changed to using this second system, but FireAlpaca is keeping the Wintab system for backwards compatibility. There are two pressure/location pane/tablet systems in Windows, the older Wintab system which is provided by the tablet manufacturer (quality varies considerably) which is used by FireAlpaca (and a few other programs) and is compatible back to Windows XP, and the Microsoft Ink/TabletPC system, which really only works well on Windows 7 onwards (there were some versions for earlier Windows, but they were fairly clunky), is built into Windows and is a lot more system-compatible with tablets (especially cheaper tablets).
